| | | Bad construction and poor company supportA.R.E. Tw Series TW Series : Ford Super-Duty

I am surprised A.R.E. asked me to do a review. My TW series cap came from the factory looking great... but was unusable. The rods used to secure the back hatch were ridiculously short. Only about 1/8 inch of rod was actually holding the hatch shut on each side. When towing a camper, the hatch would OPEN on the HIGHWAY! When I brought it back to my dealer, they were great. They agreed that the latch rods were terrible, and poorly designed at a minimum. A.R.E. actually admitted that they know (and have known for some time) this is an issue, but don't seem to care. When the dealer asked for new, longer rods, ARE sent them the rods, and CHARGED them for it!!!! This was to fix a serious safety issue that A.R.E. knows about! Also, I had to seriously tighen the clamps that hold the cap... the cap slide forward and hit the cab of the truck. I have to drill holes to properly secure the cap. The clamps provided by A.R.E. do NOT safely secure the cap in my opinion. I do NOT recommend this cap. Well, A.R.E., you wanted my opinion, there it is. It will be interesting to see if A.R.E. posts this review.
