I liked the fit and finish of the first one so much that I bought an identical one for my new truck. A.R.E. Z Series Z Series : Chevy/GMC Silverado/Sierra December 02, 2010    Posted by: Ken I purchased this cap two years ago and it leaked right away. The dealer said it was installed correctly but last year on a trip out west I experienced heavy rain in New Orleans. Everything in the bed of the truck was soaked. I went to a dealer in Phoenix to have it repaired. The dealer said the cap was not installed correct and had to be reinstalled. I paid to have it reinstalled. We had heavy rains in Arizona last year also and guess what?! Yes the cap leaked worse. Now this dealer proceeds to tell me that the cap is installed correctly and that was it. He also told me not to worry because the rain we were experiencing was out of the ordinary and it really doesn’t rain that much in Arizona! The fortunate part for me up to this is that the truck spent most of the time in the garage and was only used twice a year for trips. I called ARE and they told me to seal the CHIMSL. I did and then I proceeded to water test the cap. Well at least the front stationary window didn’t leak. I ended up solving the problem. I silicon calked ALL side windows including the vent windows.
