A.R.E. Dcu Series
DCU Series : Toyota Tacoma

I first got turned on to these when I salvaged a DCU cap from a junkyard, and I had it on the past three trucks I owned. Now that bed sizes have changed twice since then, I needed to purchase a new one for my 2022 Tacoma. So, I ordered one and waited several months. Now that it's installed on my truck, I realize how the company has gone the cheap route with the latches and locks. The mechanisms are enclosed in plastic now, and have a lot of wiggle and play. Half of the key sockets don't even sit flush to the plate, the handles are flimsy and have a lot of play to them. The locks are clearly inferior. The whole point of this thing is security, and these locks are so bad that I think a determined teenager with a paperclip or a hairpin could easily open it. It wouldn't take much effort just to pry the thing out as it's so cheap and flimsy. The poor quality of this is despicable. Also, when ordering, it took several days before someone picked up the phone during business hours, and they didn't get around to replying to an email until I'd sent several. I thought that this would be a great company with a great product, but they have been a let down in every possible way. Also, this site won't let me post unless I select from the accessory menu, so I picked LED light options as I certainly don't have any of the other stuff listed, but in the spirit of full disclosure, the selection is arbitrary.
