The fiberglass is left cut open - the metal strips around window are sharp where they were cut off - and the latch is almost impossible to get your fingers through when in the open position. Get a different model and see it before you order. The A.R.E. topper I was replacing was great. The topper was purchased to offer security for the cargo bed. The color match is spot on and I'm very pleased with the overall look. My wife noticed some sharp edges around the rear window trim, around the outside of the door. It appears that when it was cut to fit it did not get filed down.
