Product Reviews : A.R.E. Truck Caps and Tonneau Covers

Even though there were a couple of issues with the CX Classic we would give it a good rating. The color matches our truck very well and the lines blend in with the bed of the truck. The night after the CX was installed there was a substantial rain.....there were some minor leaks near the front corners of the bed of the truck and some moderate leaks at the windows of the CX where the aluminum framing comes together. The leaks in the bed corners was remedied with a thicker gasket. The leaks at the windows came through and soaked the carpet inside. We used strips of electrical tape to cover the gaps where the water was coming through which stopped one of the leaks but the other one required more tape forced into place because the ends of the aluminum were not well aligned. The leak seems to have been stopped now. The reason this leak onto the carpet was concerning was because the CX is going to be used as a camper and the thought of the carpet staying wet and possibly mildewing was not good. Overall we like the CX and we hope there will not be any surprise leaks in the future.
