On our first camping trip we noticed a significant leak at the rear hatch. After talking with our local retailer, who talked with A.R.E.'s engineers, it was determined that the leak could be repaired. At no additional charge, the topper was sent back and repaired in a timely fashion. We have had no further issues and love it! Can't wait to use it more frequently on quick get-a-ways.

 2015 Tundra long bed

This is my third A.R.E. cap. It has the worst fit. The sides bow out in the middle. I can fit my fingers between the bottom edge of the cap and the bed. The trim on the front of one of the windows is loose. Paint is nice. Front and backs of cap fit good. This is on a long bed.

CX on 2014 Frontier long bed
CX Classic : Nissan Frontier

The black CX truck cap is gorgeous on the black 2014 Nissan Frontier long bed and the drop down front window as suggested by the dealer is great for cleaning windows. This is my sixth A.R.E. product and all have been outstanding. However, the front weather strip material provided by A.R.E. on initial installation July 15, 2014 was inadequate to keep water out so the dealer replaced it. The heavy-duty aluminum door (which is flimsy) had a bow below the T handle with an approximate ½” gap between the door and tailgate; the dealer contacted the manufacturer’s representative in October 2014 who contacted the parts department but no feedback has been received. An online contact was made with an A.R.E. representative in November 2014 and the advice was to drop the tailgate, close the door, and push in the door to remove the bow. This helped some; however, the two bottom ends began to separate from the vertical sides of the door. The dealer had been contacted again on June 2, 2015 about the flimsiness of the door and options to strengthen it to prevent potential thefts; grabbing the T handle and pulling slightly gives enough gap between the door and tailgate to slide a hand inside the door. The truck cap is wonderful but weather strip material and a secure door have been unsatisfactory. Avoid the CX series.
