CX Classic : Toyota Tacoma August 29, 2020    Posted by: Noral Roy I had previously (years ago) purchased a shell for my Nissan truck from Torrance Shell Center and had a good experience then. So I went back for a shell for my new Tacoma. They recommended an ARE shell from the CX series. Shells have come a long way since I bought one for my Nissan. The ARE shell is very well built. I like the carpet on the inside and the dropdown window which will allow me to easily clean in between the rear cab window and the front bed window. And the external paint on the shell is an exact match! Interior roof lining still looks good. LED light bar is bright, very good. Drop down clothes bar holders feel stout. BedRug is quite substantial. Installer / dealer however was adequate only. Wrong locks on all three windoors commercial t-handle were specified but not ordered, epoxy used for sealing bed to rails a little sloppily applied. The color didn't quite match the Oxford White of my Ford F-150 and the edge of the paint on the right side was was blistered. Had to send back to ARE to correct the issues with my new canopy. Going to have to wait another 8 to get it back.
