From a distance my cap looks very nice. Unfortunately the attention to detail is lacking. My weep holes on my slider are well nonexistent. It looks like the die that punches the holes was wore out. The weep hole looks more like a rat tried to chew through it. When I sent pictures to my dealer, who sent them on to ARE, the response was that is how they received them from there supplier and will not replace them. Not sure why ARE would accept subpar windows form a supplier and then think its okay to sell them to there customers. The hinge for the lift window in the back also has some cosmetic flaws. The ends where the chop saw cut them where never filed or painted. I was informed by my dealer that all caps are that way...Grim.

 Nice product but not great QC

I have had my cap about 3 months now and love it for the most part. Keeps everything dry and has a great look. The disappointments are things that should have been caught at the factory. For one I purchased the sliding / fold down front window. It will not fold down. First the hardware used on that window is very cheap so I was scared to break it, but the window itself gets caught on it’s own frame because it was installed a bit crooked. I could force it but then I’m scared I will not get it shut. So I just will not use the fold down feature I guess. Also the tail light wire keeps falling down. So overall I think the structure and appearance are great, but I question anyone actually checks the final working before it leaves production and also wish they would use better hardware around windows. Overall I do recommend these however I suggest you check it closely as I didn’t notice until and month after install.

On my previous truck I had an ARE LS II cover, which has been very reliable. So with the purchase of a new Toyota Tacoma I ordered a ARE LS II cover. ARE and the dealer have been of no help to resolve a couple of issues. The cover was installed dirty and not checked for any damage. The installer had trouble getting the rear left latch to lock when closing. I have a couple of leaks in the front of the truck bed when washing the truck. So I called ARE to help resolve the issues, II was informed I had to take the truck back to the installer or another ARE Dealer which the labor would be at my cost. I asked for a supervisor to call me, after three days of no phone calls, I have called back and asked for someone to call me again. I was not given any paper work on the cover. This is not the service one expects from a $1,500 cover. If any one is looking for a tonneau cover do not purchase a ARE Cover. They do not stand behind the product.
