I had purchased a competitors product and when it arrived at the dealer it was scratched and paint was chipping off of it. The fit was awful both sides had to much bow along the bedline and the door did not seem to fit right if the rear of the cap fit the truck properly. The folks at Camp Out Time, here in las Vegas NV, recommended your cap. Chris allowed me to use the defective product while I waited for the new ARE cap to arrive. I could not be happier with the fit and finish as well as my dealership experience. All have performed very well with no issues with any of the hardware or cracking of the fiberglass. I had to cut the plastic cap on top of my truck's tailgate to make it easier to operate which I really did not like being forced to do. When I picked up the truck after the topper was installed, I was informed that it was common for the single handle topper locks to operate like this. It seems to me that if this is a common issue it should be addressed, maybe by make the hole for the pivot point higher on the frame for the lift gate to allow more room for it to turn.The center pivot point hit the plastic guard so severely I was afraid that it would cause damage to the pivot point. And my wife was unable to open the handle.
