 Nothing but a stressful nightmare
CX Revo : Ford F250 Super Duty
May 01, 2024    Posted by: Al Calhoun
I bought an MX cap 10 years ago for my 2013 Ford F-350 Superduty. It was fantastic, the paint was concours quality, not a blemish. It looked like the day I bought it when I traded the truck in on my 2023 F250 Superduty last year. I waited patiently for the Revo cap to become available for the Superduty models. When they finally became available I ordered one. It arrived at the dealer filthy, dirty from shipping, to the point where the paint couldn’t be examined until it was installed and washed. It fit fine and I liked the optional features it had. The problem was the two chips it had in the premium color paint (which cost extra). The dealer offered to remove the cap and send it back to ARE for repainting, I thought, that’s great, problem resolved. NOT SO MUCH, when the cap was returned to the dealer from ARE it was clearly a different cap. The dealer reinstalled it and when I got it home and washed it I found three chips and two, what appears to be pieces of dirt that were painted over as well as a little spot of bare fiberglass sticking through the paint. SUPRISE,I should have kept the first one with the two chips. At that point I was DONE with ARE. I bought some touch up paint and figured I’d just try to fix my $4,000 cap myself. The dealer was trying to negotiate with ARE to get me a little money refunded. They reported to me that they got a hard time from ARE customer service and in the end ARE bigheartedly decided to reimburse me for the touchup paint. What a joke. Quality: DOWN THE DRAIN - Customer service: NON EXISTENT. Good luck if you buy one.

Multiple fisheyes, a hard line, rough edges and 2 gouges in paint
CX Revo : Dodge Ram

I like everything about my new CX Revo except the paint job. There are multiple fisheyes in the paint, a hard line under the paint, inconsistent rough edges at the bottom of the cap and 2 through the paint gouges. I paid an extra $179.24 for the Tri-Coat Color match and I expected a much better finish for a $5,757.58 cap. On the plus side, the color match looks great.
