 My First ARE Topper

Dealer I bought this from in Conyers was a First Class Dealership. I am deducting 2 stars for the manufacturer. Why? I think the building process needs to slow down and give more attention to detail. I have noticed some of the sealer applied was over applied. Writing and chaulk dust inside the camper during build that was not removed. Top skin is actually 2 pieces and the seam is offset to center. I think this should have been 1 complete piece being on the roof. Some of the white plastic moulding was not trimmed off also. The third break light is stick on and actually started leaking after the first week. Called the dealer and at his own expense resealed the light. Topper looks great and functions perfectly I just wonder how long the seam in the roof will hold. I purchased a ARE due to seeing many service companies using them over the years. I just hope the good money spent over other cheaper brands pays off and this topper holds up.

 DCU Cap and Kargomaster ladder rack

I recently purchased a DCU cap and Kargo Master ladder rack for my personal truck based on an identical one that was on a company truck I had. The first one delivered to the dealer was incorrect (solid passenger side- door missing). Once the 2nd one was installed, I was pleased. The only issue was, after driving home from the 2nd installation, the passenger side door rubbed the rear leg of the ladder rack when opening it. I nudged the leg rearward with a block and a sledge, but it wouldn't have even been an issue if the passenger side cap door was just 1" shorter (still centered on the cap, would give 1/2" clearance- MORE than enough). Otherwise, the cap and rack are everything I expected and function perfectly for my needs.

 Third time is a charm

This is my third A.R.E. DCU unit. I appreciate the improvements for each successive model. My 2nd unit had Bolt technology keys; the latest one has eLocks. All models have security screens installed so during my working days I didn’t have to worry so much about theft ( I had the truck security alarm extended into the DCU unit). The back double opening doors make loading 4x8 sheets of plywood easy as pie. I would definitely purchase another. The matching paint job was perfect.
