 Leaks Like Sieve

Let me preface this review by saying that I have owned several caps over the years from multiple manufactures. 4 of them have been A.R.E. caps. My current cap (Z-Series) was ordered on 6/28/20 and I took delivery on 9/28/20. Upon initial delivery the cap looked good, paint match was close but not perfect. Not as good as products I purchased from Bushwacker and Undercover. Their paint match was spot on. First day driving in a light rain I noticed that areas under the windows, were wet along both side rails as well as the front bulkhead underneath the slider. Thinking that the interior may have become wet prior to installation, I let the surfaces dry to determine where the water was coming from. Second rain and the interior was wet again. Returned the cap to the dealer, who then shipped it back to A.R.E. for repair. Since it was going back to the manufacturer for repair, I requested that it be repainted to better match the truck. Upon taking delivery the second time the paint appeared to be a better match. After the first rain, while the truck was parked, the area under the front slider was soaked. The area under the side windows were dry. It appeared that the manufacturer did nothing to correct the leaks around the front slider window. So back to the dealer it goes again. Spent multiple hours as well as taking time off of work in efforts to resolve this issue. There is no way I can recommend this product. Have not had to return a single cap for service in the past. If this cap represents A.R.E. current products, they have definitely gone down over the years. Premium price for a non-premium product.

 Damaged topper
Z Series : Chevy/GMC Silverado/Sierra

I received my topper from toppers and more from South ST Paul MN. I dropped my pickup off at 9 am and at 1130 I got a call saying that it was installed. I went inside and paid and the dealer sent me on my way. I needed to swing in and pick up food I ordered which was on my way home when I got out I walked by the passenger side and discovered that the corner of the topper looked like it had been dropped causing a crack and a chip but looked painted over. So I am upset with ARE and Toppers and More because how did that topper make it on my pickup in the first place. So I took a picture and the dealer contacted ARE and now I have to drive all the way back and have my topper sent back. It took almost 3 months to get it in the first place. Now how long to I need to wait. I would appreciate a call back on this issue.

 Warning

I ordered a new DCU series topper for a work truck, it was ordered and installed by an A.R.E dealer. Two days after it was installed I noticed that the toolbox on the driver side had leaked during the rain we had the night before, the entire bottom of the box was completly full of water almost destroying hundreds of dollars worth of power tools. The next week I had some customers parts in the bed of the truck (it was raining again) got back to the shop to unload the parts and discovered that the topper was also leaking into the bed of the truck from the seam on the roof, once again almost ruining thousands of dollars worth of my customers parts. One of the main reasons to put a topper on a truck is to keep things out of the elements, the A.R.E DCU topper failed miserably at this simple task. So basically I spent almost $3,000.00 for a piece of scrap metal on my truck. EXTREMELY unhappy with this topper.
