 Disappointing
Z Series : Chevy/GMC Silverado/Sierra

The build quality of the truck cap I purchased was very disappointing. The rear access window was misaligned in the opening, the interior aluminum window frames were badly bent from over torqued fasteners and the paint "match" was several shades off. Never again.

 Z2 Series
Z Series : Dodge Ram

Bought the Z2 Series which I believe is a newer series by A.R.E. I am of the opinion that it is the sharpest looking truck cap out there. Color matched perfectly with my 2020 Ram Laramie 1500. I had a Z series on my old truck which I purchased new in 2014 and it held up well after 120,000 miles. The only issue I had with that cap was I had one lock and one rear window shock cylinder went bad. As for the new Z2 I haven't had enough use for it, going through a Covid-19 lock down for a month or, so to find any negatives. The little use I did have was extremely favorable. The rear window feels lighter and is easier to open and close. The rope lighting that I purchased is a vast improvement over the rear manual light that is standard. Very nice that it turns on and off with the opening/closing of the rear window powered by the trucks electrical system. I think I'll be satisfied with this new cap as I had been with the last one I bought from A.R.E.

Customer satisfaction definitely not ARE's priority
Z Series : Toyota Tundra

Water in the bed after installation of top. Returned to shop and installer claimed it was a problem with the truck bed vs. the cap. Seems like that should just be a standard fix the first time for Tundras if that is the case. Interior light wasn't working. Took ARE over a month to finally send out another. Now there seems to be another leak happening. Paid a premium price to be convinced ARE is resting on its laurels.
