The truck cap does all I need it to do. I suddenly needed the bed of my pickup dry, musical equipment can take up a lot of room. Throw in my two guitars, my sons bango and a couple of mandolins, and now the grandbabies guitar. Add a couple of amps, and small pa it just won't fit in the extended cab anymore. Just went on a 200 mile trip with a litte rain and everything stayed dry. The cap is well built. Fits really well, looks nice, and seamed to help on gas miliage even though I didn't check it.I'm well pleased with the cap. Only regret is I didn't get one years sooner.

I ordered this cap about two months ago, and it was installed today. That seems like a long time, but the dealer told me that it might take that long, so no big deal. When the dealer called me to tell me it had come in, he let me know that there were scratches all over the aluminum window frames. It's pretty surprising that A.R.E. would let a product out of the factory with this obvious defect. Some of the scratches had attempted to be "fixed" by drawing over them with a sharpie marker. The dealer contacted A.R.E. and they will be sending new windows, which the dealer will install at no charge to me. Just a few other things - the cap was filthy when it was delivered to the dealer. Not a huge deal, as they are delivered on an open 18 wheeler, and are likely to pick up some grime. However, it was still filthy when I picked up the truck with the cap installed. And the first thing I had to do was to actually remove the cap so I could clean the front of the window which is against the truck cab. Then, I had to wash it, inside and out. It seems like that's something the dealer should have taken care of. I personally would not deliver a filthy product to a customer. The only other gripe is the way the interior light is hooked up - it's hooked to the wiring for the tail lights. That means you can only use the light when the tail lights are on. I'll be rewiring that directly to the battery. But the cap looks good (now that it's clean) and it fits well. The door and windows have a snug fit and the headliner (which I got as an option) is nicely installed. I also got the Yakima rack, and that too is nicely installed.
