Product Reviews : A.R.E. Truck Caps and Tonneau Covers

Still pretty new, so these are mostly first impressions. The positives are that it looks good, fits well (except for tailgate) and seems well made. Those of us with a newer Dodge know how much the tailgate curves out. The glass has a lip attached to it to cover the curve of the tailgate. While this gets the job done, it seems a little flimsy to me. Also, there are small slats in it between attachment points, I have to wonder how water tight this is. It’s less than a month old, so don’t know if this will ever become an issue or not, but I know I’m trying to be extra careful when I close it, so I’m already thinking about it. I would have preferred a custom design for Dodge that brings out the glass more and didn’t use the add on lip, but I can understand that would have been an expense re-work for one model of truck. Also, would have preferred the overhead lights to be LED and thus a smaller profile than what sticks down from the roof now, but they get the job done. I gave it 3/5 stars for the tailgate, everything else seems pretty good. P.S. The installer at Edmond Pickup did a great job, wiring looks very neat and everything fits well. Got the carpet liner (already had the BedRug) and that's done well.
