Product Reviews : A.R.E. Truck Caps and Tonneau Covers

This is the 2nd CX cap I've owned. The first was red and on a GMC with 6'-9" bed. I love the "Sportsman" package that allows the side windows to open. This allows access to items in the front of the bed. I had this cap for 7 years without any problems. For this reason I bought another. This time its Pearl White and a 5'-9" bed. The side window have sliders in them that only open half way because the cap is so small. Not A.R.E's fault I bought a stubby truck. When the cap was delivered there was a problem. While lifting a cap from the delivery trailer above my cap the window was shattered on the cap being lifted and glass rained down over my cap, scratching it. This delayed the delivery of my cap by 2 weeks. I really needed the cap for a trip to Canada. The cap was fixed and matches close to the truck color but not perfect. I've heard the Pearl metallic paint is very difficult to match and it can be seen. No compensation for my inconvenience and added wait time. So I'm hesitant to buy from again. The cap is performing well, no leaks, does what it should.
