| | | MX Series Truck CapA.R.E. Mx Series MX Series : Chevy/GMC Silverado/Sierra
August 24, 2017 Posted by: Gary
I have had ARE caps on four trucks now. The current one was the worst I have ever owned. The trim around the windows was unevenly cut, and the hatch was aligned on the driver's side, the the gap on the passenger side was wide enough to stick my thumb between the hatch and cap. The trim piece that covered the tailgate came with big scratches in it. I went back to the dealer and they replaced the scratched piece and re-aligned the the hatch door, but it still isn't straight. I sent an e-mail to ARE, and they never bothered to respond. As a repeat customer, I was very disappointed in the lack of concern from the manufacturer. On the plus side, I do like the automatic lights and the added LED strips in the ceiling.

| | | Research told me to go with A.R.E.A.R.E. Z Series Z Series : Honda Ridgeline

I just bought a 2017 Honda Ridgeline. I researched Leer and A.R.E. online and by visiting dealers. In my opinion: The quality of the topper itself (fiberglass) is comparable, but the hardware, windows, etc. on the A.R.E. unit are superior. The fit is great, especially considering that this Ridgeline model has only been on the market for a few months. A.R.E. even supplied a kit containing replacement cargo tie down hooks that incorporate a mounting point that eliminates those bulky 'C' clamps used to mount most toppers. The rear hatch closes down against the top of the tailgate perfectly. The warranty is as good as it gets. The dealer was friendly and knowledgeable. The installation is perfect. I'm very happy with my choice and hope to have the truck and the topper for many years to come.

Love the cap.!! Bought other brands, they are all garbage. Bought another A.R.E. cover & will only buy A.R.E. from now on. Wasn't happy with the service from the Dealer, waited 2 weeks longer than they said, it took 4.5 hours to put the cover on only to find out they scratched my bed and tried to cover it up . I do really like my A.R.E. cover. A.R.E. is the best cap on the market!
