 Back Gate Latch

So far the only thing I see as a problem is the latch is to close to the tail gate cover. I hit my knuckle on it. There is not enough room.

I am a snowbird living in Florida for six months out of the year. I needed more room for items we take with us from Ohio when traveling to Florida. The F150 King Ranch fit the bill, but was worried about the security of the items when we stayed at motels along the way. The LS 11 seems very moisture proof and strong for this purpose and I am well satisfied. The construction seems hardy, and the finish is excellent.

 Not as nice as past A.R.E. cap

The fiberglass cap and paint color match to my truck are very nice. However, the standard side windows are no longer tapered and thus need a black factory sticker to fill in the void against the fiberglass window cut-out. Windows are the same as they were on my 1983 A.R.E. cap and I think they should have improved over the last 31 years. Also, I do not like plastic rear window tailgate overhang. Rather than spec. the rear window frame to accommodate the newer truck tailgates......the 1983 window returns with a cheap feeling plastic bump-out riveted to bottom of rear window door frame. Unfortunately, while many things on my new cap feel like 1983.....the price I paid for is was not one of them.
