Product Reviews : A.R.E. Truck Caps and Tonneau Covers

At first glance, the LSX tonneau appears to be as advertised. Premium top of the line product. The drawbacks that jumped out after a closer inspection is that the paint job on the tonneau has quite a few flaws and blemishes. Also the fiberglass itself has small ripples but are not that noticeable. The bottom edges of the tonneau are unfinished with exposed fiberglass. The biggest concern is the lack of a tailgate seal. In fact you can take a piece of cardboard and slide it into the truck bed over the tailgate with the tonneau locked down. This is bound to allow water to enter the truck bed probably pretty liberally at the right angle. Had I have it to do over I would have passed on the purchase. $1600 is just too much for a tonneau this unfinished.
