Product Reviews : A.R.E. Truck Caps and Tonneau Covers

Overall, the cap looks good and serves it's purpose. It actually looks stylish, the paint matches the truck well and it appears to have come on the truck instead of as an afterthought....until you sit inside it or look closely at the back gate. When inside, you notice the gaping holes on either side of the gate. I anticipate water from rain and snow will be getting in. It appears that the installer had to cut the rubber gaskets for some reason. Not sure if they couldn't get the gate to close or what. They admitted that while they've installed many truck caps, this was their first Ridgeline, and it was a bear. I should have walked away right then! The trunk also rubs against the clamps installed in the rear of the truck. It still opens, but is unnecessarily annoying. I don't plan on taking it back to the installer since they obviously weren't up to the task. I can't "uncut" what's been removed. I intend to try to adjust the clamps myself and install some type of rubber gaskets or weatherproofing material to fill the gaps. My only disappointment with the unit itself is that it is a little difficult to open the gate. The latch is slightly flimsy as is the plastic shield that runs across (most) of the back. All this said, I like the cap and don't regret my purchase.
