Cx Series CX Classic : Toyota Tacoma October 15, 2019    Posted by: Todd I really was disappointed with the quality of the CX series cap I received after paying $2400 and waiting 6 weeks after being told it would take 4 weeks. Aside from some paint issues (already peeling where contact is made at the windoor and some blemishes all around), the window seal on my side slider window came with a faulty seal. It looks pretty terrible and I expect it will leak when we actually get some rain. It is really obvious and was the first issue I noticed. The fit is not perfect. I can see a half dollar sized hole on one side of my tailgate and it fits fine on the opposite side. Bolts and washers have been falling out of holes since the day I bought it. The front sliding window that abuts the cab is incredibly hard to open for a couple of reasons. The window in my Tacoma slides the opposite direction of the front sliding window making it harder to open than if both sliding windows slid the same direction! Who's idea was this? Also, the front sliding window is very difficult to slide because of the rubber that is must slide across while sliding it. This makes it impossible for me to open that window on the fly when at a stop light etc. I have to get out of the car completely and fight with the fricken sliding window! The place that I bought my topper from are well known and THEY do good quality work. They were embarrassed when I called to ask for a person at A.R.E. to bring up my concerns with. The issue is that the topper should have never left the warehouse in such poor quality condition! I would have not taken the topper as delivered, but my wife happened to have our baby the day I was to take delivery of my topper. I picked it up after hours at dark, so the issues didn't show themselves until daylight the next day. For the money I paid, I expected much better from A.R.E. I did my research of the other competitors and thought I had made a good decision, but unfortunately A.R.E. does not put out the quality that I thought they would. X Series X Series : Dodge Ram November 11, 2014    Posted by: Todd I purchased your X series cap with an upgrade to the frameless vent side windows, roof rack rails, Elock and flip down picture window. I had researched a number of different manufactures and narrowed it down to yours and another company. The persuading factor for me was the buttonless rear window and the elock, even though they came at a higher cost. However, I was very disappointed in the fit of the rear glass as there is a 1/2" gap at the top and along the sides that has already collected debris and caused the hatch to freeze shut in the first 30 degree day in mid-Michigan, preventing me from getting to my hunting equipment. The Elock caused an issue with my power locks and alarm and needed to be bypassed to function correctly and there is a leak at one of the roof rack rails. I discussed getting a full refund with the owner of the distributor I purchased it from and he has been fantastic in trying to remedy the issues. In the end, he offered to either refund the full amount or upgrade me to a Z series. After some more research and being thankful for his dedication to customer service, I agreed to the upgrade...for now.
