V Series Truck Caps Overall 2.0 of 5 Fit: 0.5 of 5 Finish: 2.5 of 5 Function: 1.0 of 5 Performance: 1.3 of 5   The main problem: it doesn't fit my truck well V Series : Ford Ranger July 17, 2020    Posted by: I bought a V series cap for a 2020 Ford Ranger (with the ~ 6 ft. bed), and I'm very disappointed with it. The biggest problem is that it does not fit. When mounted as far forward as possible, it is still about 3/4 inch too short for the bed. This does not allow enough overhang or overlap at the front to allow proper sealing, and as installed by the dealer, it leaks a great deal at the front edge, even in a moderate rain or during normal washing. I've decided to keep the cap because there are very few other fiberglass cap options currently for a 2019-2020 Ranger. I've also decided to attempt to seal the front edge myself, because the ARE dealer I purchased it through turned out to be quite incompetent, careless, and untrustworthy. Aside from these major issues, I'm also disappointed in the quality of the cap's design and construction, particularly the poor weather sealing of the back hatch. Also has windoor windows on both sides for easy access to inside. Paint finish is very nice and matches truck. Assembly and workmanship was good. I bought a tail gate seal that I hope will fix this. The rear light on top had wires hanging down from the light fixture: The wires could have been trucked away under the carpet. The front corners of the cap cut in a bit too sharply. I wanted a top of the line cap, but could only get the solid side and rear doors with the V series. I understood it would not be a svelte as the top of the line, but it is ok. I previously had a Leer top of the line but I actually like this a bit better, even though another brands fit was better.
