I've owned the LS11 on previous truck and my comparison of my new LS11 is based on comparing to my previous LS11. I don't like the new latching mechanism and prefer the older style where the rod would rotate and securely lock under the bed/cap rail. I hear the latch activate when I close the lid, but you have to push and haven't been confident yet that the cap is securely closed. The front hinge on my previous LS11 extended further than on my new LS11. It looks bad to have the gap that I have on each side of the hinge now and I'm sure water may leak in from there at some point in time. The fiberglass material in the area below the lock is thinner and flexes. If not for the lifetime warranty I would be concerned about this cracking or breaking over time and use.
