I bought an ARE last year for over $3000. The initial installation wasn’t done well and the seal wasn’t good. The topper leaked inside the bed. One year later I’ve had the topper removed and resealed and it still leaks. I’ve had the rear door replaced and leaks at the bottom of the door back to the frame and the companies has told my dealer to fill it with insulation foam. I spoke with a rep directly from Ohio, who gave me a handshake agreement that if the door fixed didn’t work that the company would take the topper back to evaluate it for repair which has not occurred. I sent ARE an email of the poor quality of the leaking topper, the leaking door, the deeply chipped paint underneath the Yakima rack, and I was told that I had to go through the dealer and they will not entertain warranty claim outside of dealer communication. My dealer stated he contact ARE and they were supposed to contact me directly. When I called back, my dealer told me that ARE had informed him that they had contacted me. That was a lie they had not contacted me since the initial “ The dealers are our eyes and ears” initial email respond. My dealer said he would send the company with another email. A week later I have not heard from ARE nor my dealer. 0 out of 10 stars. The initial installation was done correctly, the topper may have been OK except for the chipped paint that is obviously something that should not have made it through quality control. Since ARE refuses to communicate with me and make a reasonable continuation of root cause analysis and making the situation right, I’m hoping that a direct review will help others beware of seller and encourage company to contact me to remedy this rapidly either with me personally or through my toys for truck dealer out of Lincoln, Nebraska. Toys for trucks Lincoln, Nebraska has gone out of the way to try and help me and is unjustly put in the middle as a buffer, which is not acceptable or respectful to a dealer nor customer.
